Founded in 2003, Applied Research & Photonics, Inc. (ARP) is a Harrisburg, Pennsylvania based company. ARP is the leading company producing a line of terahertz instruments based on its proprietary Dendrimer Dipole Excitation (DDE) [1] based CW terahertz source. ARP technology received the prestigious CLEO/LFW innovation award 2011 and NASA TechBrief’s nano-50 award in 2007 and 2008. ARP inventions have earned multiple patents (awarded and pending). ARP’s terahertz spectrometer, TeraSpectra, uses a high power DDE terahertz source for high resolution spectroscopy. Terahertz technology provides the next generation capabilities, overcoming the so-called terahertz gap, with new spectroscopy applications in this spectrum range. ARP has broken the wavelength barrier for sub-nanometer resolution imaging on a layer by layer basis [2].
